Percy Julian, who was born on April 11, 1899, contributed a lot of important inventions to society. He is most noted for inventing a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis by synthesizing cortisone from soy beans. She named her invention the “Gong and Signal Chair for Hotels.” Benjamin’s invention allowed hotel customers to call for a waiter without leaving their chair.
