 On October 31, 1950, Earl Lloyd became the first African-American to play in the NBA. He played only days before African-American NBA pioneers Chuck Cooper and Nathaniel Clifton, and within the same season as NBA pioneer, Hank DeZonie.  Collectively, these four men we the first African-American basketball players to play in the NBA, during the 1950-1951 season.
