Richard Spikes was a prolific inventor. Among his inventions were: automobile directional signals, an automatic car washer, an automatic safety brake, a multiple-barrel machine gun, self-locking rack for billiard cues, and a method and apparatus for obtaining average samples and temperature of tank liquids.
