Charles Hamilton Houston (1895-1950), the son of an attorney, became an lawyer himself. In 1922, he graduated from Harvard Law School. He later became a professor at Howard University Law School. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in the law school becoming an accredited learning institution. Charles Hamilton Houston is also credited with laying the legal groundwork in the landmark case, Brown vs. The Board of Education.
